A Personal Reflection on the LEAD Program
The Stanford LEAD program has been a catalyst for significant positive change in both my professional and personal life. It’s more than just a collection of courses; it’s a transformative experience that empowers individuals to unlock their full potential.
One of the most profound impacts came from the Building Power to LEAD Course by Professor Jeffery Pfeffer. This course helped me to recognize and overcome self-limiting beliefs that had been hindering my progress. By understanding the subtle ways in which we can sabotage our own success, I’ve learned to harness my inner power and take bold steps towards my goals.
The Negotiation Course by Professor Margeret Neale was another game-changer. It taught me that negotiation isn’t about winning or losing; it’s about finding mutually beneficial solutions. By adopting a collaborative approach and focusing on shared interests, I’ve been able to build stronger relationships and achieve more favorable outcomes.
The Neuroscience and Leadership course by Professor Baba Shiv was a revelation. By delving into the science of the mind, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of how our thoughts and emotions shape our behavior. This knowledge has empowered me to take control of my mental state, cultivate a positive mindset, and inspire those around me.
Finally, the A New Type of Leader course by Professor Jennifer Aker and Professor Naomi Bagdonas has taught me the power of laughter. By incorporating humor into my interactions, I’ve been able to build rapport, diffuse tension, and create a more enjoyable and productive work environment. It’s amazing how a well-timed joke can break down barriers and foster deeper connections.
These are just a few examples out of the numerous nuggets I have got from the program. The Stanford LEAD program has truly equipped me with the tools and mindset to succeed. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this incredible community and look forward to continuing to apply these valuable lessons in my life.
Looking forward to sharing more with you!
